There’s a quiet street near the eucalyptus grove where I would often stop. The houses catch the morning light in a way that softens the trees, the roofs, even the air itself, and reflects the simple beauty of a familiar place waking up in the light.

That morning, the greens surprised me. I’ve never thought of green as my favorite color, but standing there I could see hundreds of shades shifting as the sun moved, cool tones giving way to warm ones in rhythm with the shadows.
